Just thought I would share a Sarcoma event--Rene and I met today and participated in the walk and hotdog BBQ in Placerville, CA--It was fun!  Very nice to meet Rene in person and out of the 25-30 people there we met Kenny who is a Ewings Survivor(his mom is the one that put together the walk) We met a family form Oakland (Tam and David) that just lost their 13 year son in March--very sweet family and oh what pain they are in Sad and then Rene and I also survivors--the rest of the people were supporters-well all except for the ones I mentioned were Kenny's family and friends--but SUPPORTERS all together!!  hahah  So we took a couple pics of the event and Rene and I so here they are!  Overall it was a good day and I had fun!!!!  It was neat to swap stories with Kenny and listen to the battle that Tam and Davids son went through.........Everyone talked about having it again next year-and trying to spread the word a bit more---for the first time though it was good!!!  Hotdogs were yummy---OH and I have to tell on myself--We drove up the street to go to the BBQ and when I got out of the car all I could smell was BACON--so I yelled across the street to Rene--RENE BACON!!!!!!  She started laughing at me--How fitting is that though!  Going to a Sarcoma event and smelling bacon ..What a good day!!!  The first 3 pics are the lemonade stand and the registration booth they had set up, the third is a group of people that were there before we started to walk and the last is Rene and I and very camera shy Diana--what a cutie she is although you can't tell in that picture  Cheesy

I agree it was so nice to meet Cari, Glen and the other families at the Sarcoma walk. At times it was very emotional, especially talking with Tam and David. They plan to organize a walk/bike ride/ swimming event next year in their son's honor, to benefit sarcoma research. Their son was on the swim team and they want to include the team in the event.

And Cathy you are NOT an idiot! Here's some more to view.

THat is so wonderful that you two got together and met and enjoyed the day with others that are supporters. Cathy I agree with you, wish I could have been there too. Sounds like it was so much fun. Thanks for the pictures!!!

Great picture! How cool is that getting to meet live. You gals are radiant! God willing, next year at this time I will be a survivor out of treatment and can take part in one of the events in person. I would love to meet up with you. California isn't that far either. Glad to see you had a good time - thanks for sharing the pictures.

I was thinking about you guys as I was receiving my daily cocktail this weekend Ifosomide and Etoposide how wonderful they make you feel  Huh.  I think I would have preferred the BACON smell.  It looks like you had a great time and how proud you should be for participating.  I hope to meet the other California girls soon...

Staying strong-
