Michelle,
I have neuropathy in my feet from Cisplatin. They are numb and tingling. It's been over 2 l/2 years, so it doesn't appear as if they will be getting any better. My onc said there is nothing they can do for it. Celeste does a thing with some Vicks Vapor Rub (you might want to consult her!) Cisplaltin also has caused me ringing in my ears, which has improved some since the end of treatment. and last but not least, moderate kidney failure. So I'm not a big fan of Cisplatin. But I digress. I hope your friends neuropathy is not too bad or painful.
Alwaysl,
Cathy

Hi Michelle,
I do suffer with neuropathy..I am seeing a specialist at
MGH Dr. Cros. He did a study on me a couple of months ago
and I will see him in November for the results. I did not do
cisplantin, I did chemo for breast cancer, some doctors think
it could be related and others think it is not. My chemo was
seven years ago.
Does your friend take any meds for it??
There is a Dr. that write in the newspaper all the time Dr Gott.
He had an article a couple of months ago (a friend gave to me) about
a women that suffers with neuropathy and they suggested using
Vic's vapor rub. He said it would not hurt anything and it is very cheap
so worth a try. You can log on his web site and find the article.
I have tried it and it does help..I think I need to do it everyday to
see if it really helps.
Good luck,
Ce

You know, I just came across this and Mark just strted with the tingling in his feet. I was hoping that it would go away. It drives him crazy. He keeps fliping his slippers off of his feet and he gets so angry. I didnt know that was a side effect of cisplatin.
